Emphemera-Numina

This is a new Numina that mortals can use. It involves entering and using the Periphery to accomplish things beyond normal human feats. A person using Ephemera is usually called a spiritualist. Reference: Werewolf 2nd ed., page 170-171.

1 • Enter Periphery
By force of will, a spiritualist can enter the Periphery. He doesn't need any external help (drugs, dreams, etc.) The spiritualist can enter at any time he wants and has total control while in the Periphery. He can also leave when ever he wants. Though he might be able to enter the Periphery by other means, this level must be learned to use the higher levels of Ephemera.
The spiritualist goes 'out of body,' his spirit leaving his physical body and enters the Periphery. It is a good idea to be sitting or lying down when using this level. The spiritualist in the Periphery has no control or feeling of his physical body, but he can find his body when he returns. The main reason to learn this level is to learn the higher levels, but a side effect of entering the Periphery is a sense of calm and peace. The spiritualist can roam the Periphery, looking around. The Periphery doesn't have the same view as the Penumbra, it is like looking through hazy glass. Spirits and other entities, both good and bad, roam the Periphery, so a spiritualist needs to be careful.

2 • Enhanced Senses
By drawing on the Periphery, the spiritualist can sharpen his senses; see, hear, smell, taste, touch so much more and better. The spiritualist will also be able to gather more information than normal. Lasts one scene.

3 • Insight
The spiritualist can draw upon the energy of the Periphery to help solve a mental problem, puzzle, or to help with creative thoughts and ideas. People entering the Periphery through dreams sometimes have insights into problems or gain new ideas. Lasts one scene.

4 • Psychic Shock
This level allows a spiritualist to draw (more like throw) another's spirit temporarily into the Periphery. The sudden shock of suddenly and forcibly entering the Periphery causes damage to the victim. Can heal the damage normally. Useable only once per turn.

5 • Draw Upon Periphery
People who have entered the Periphery relate that they felt like they were reborn into perfect bodies, strong, intelligent, handsome. The Periphery seems to show a person's full potential. A spiritualist can make this full potential materialize in the physical world. Lasts one scene.
