1• Sense the Sin (SH)
The Baali can sense the subject's greatest character flaw- be it a low Virtue, a weak Will, a Derangement, or whatever.
2• Fear of the Void Below (SH)
The Baali must first use Sense the Sin (above) to discern the tragic flaw of the target. She must then speak to the target, telling him of his inevitable damnation and lack of any hope for redemption. The victim will fly into a Terror frenzy.
3• Flames of the Netherworld (SH)
The Baali may hurl blasts of flame which do one die of damage per blood point spent.
4• Psychomachia (SH)
The Baali is able to summon the Beast in an individual. After using Sense the Sin (above) to discern weakness, the Baali can actually coax the Beast to the surface to frenzy. Any Derangements possessed by the victim will be in evidence.
5• Curse (SH)
The Baali may cast a curse on the target. One of the target's Traits, chosen by the Baali, will drop to zero for a duration one night to permanent.
6• Diabolic Lure (Dark Ages Companion)
The Baali uses this power to impose her infernal will on a subject's spirit. Upon gaining hold of the subject's soul, the Baali can stir a course towards damnation. No matter how noble the target is, she may be unable to resist even the most depraved enticements. After using Sense the Sin, the Baali can determine the best route to the target's true nature. The Baali spends a number of bloodpoints equal to the amount by which she wants to lower the victim's path or road. The victim will operate at her new rating but points can be regained in standard way. Intelligience is not lost along with the humanity, so a cunning vampire should be capable of hiding of hiding her inclinations for some time.
6• Glimpse the Gulf Beyond (Cbk Baali)
There are worlds beyond worlds and places beyond space and time; this power allows the Baali to shatter the boundaries between such zones. This is never used lightly, for even the masters of Daimoinon fear what they might see--or what might see them. When this used, the Baali literally uses his will to force cracks in the wall of reality. Through those cracks come the sights, smells, sounds and other aspects of existence outside of reality as most know it. While exactly what comes through from the other side varies from moment to moment (blasphemous whispers one second, a charnel stench and the howls of the damned the next), the impact on the target is always tremendous. Baali alone are immune to this power, but even among their ranks, there are few who gaze willing into the Void, or who do so for long. Reducing a victim's Willpower as success below may leave her with a random derangement, temporary or permanent
1 success Onlooker is shaken, loses temporary Willpower pt
2 successes Victim temporarily loses two Willpower points, Rotschreck possible
3 successes Victim temporarily loses three Willpower pts, possible losing conscious
4 successes Victim temporarily loses four Willpower pts, can fall into a catatonic state for an hour
5 + The strain of perceptions battling the imperceptible proves too much for the victim's mind. Possible permanent gibbering idiot.
6• Ignore the Searing Flames (SH)
Fire no longer affects the character.
7• Summon the Herald of Hell (SH)
This power requires a one hour ritual, three blood points' expenditure and a human sacrifice. The Baali may then summon a lesser demon from Hell to do her bidding. Demons vary greatly in abilities and form, but will usually be built on something approximating the following statistics:
Demons
Disciplines: 10 points worth, as well as a Fortitude of at least 3 and the ability to heal like a Lupine.
Form can vary wildly-some demons are beautiful seductresses, others reptilian horrors. The demon may be summoned without the hour-long ritual or the sacrifice, but the Baali must spend six blood points and the demon will be uncontrolled-it may well decide to drag the Baali down to Hell with it for her temerity.
7• Infernal Servitor (Dark Ages Companion)
Some Baali can call upon assistance from Hell and summon demonic attendants. Although a demon is suppose to obey its undead master, rumor claims that many Baali have suffered horribly at the hands of their infernal servants. 3 bloodpoints. A mortal form must be present for the demon to inhabit, in the case of a tempter or warrior literally consumed, The demon performs one task then returns to the netherworld. The more complicated the task, the more likely a demon will find a loophole and use that to torment the Baali.
1 success Imp
2 success Demonhound or Imp
3 success Demonhound, doppelganger, imp or incubus/succubus
4 success Any of the above or a demonic warrior servitor
5 success Any of the above or a demonic tempter
8• Great Curse (SH)
This curse is more subtle than the Level Three power, and affects a much wider area. With this curse, the Baali afflicts an entire city or province with a feeling of gloom, despair and malaise. Crime and violence soar, petty angers become seething hatreds, the economy takes a downward spiral, marriages break up over trivial causes, and the world just becomes a nastier place in general. Even Kindred organizations become more fractious and less efficient- thus, this power is ideal for undermining Camarilla power structures in a city. A successful use of Auspex 9 or above will enable the user to determine that there is a malevolent outside aura on the region affected; otherwise, the populace will simply assume that the times, they are a-changin'- for the worse.
8• Unleash Hell's Fury (Dark Ages Companion)
This curses the vampire with the full effects of Hell's fire and comes into play when the sun reachs in zenith in the sky directly above the subject. The victim will be burned as if she were fully exposed to the sun. Flooring, heavy stone mausoleums, coffin lids or even yards of earth will not protect against the curse. Only a vampire's preternatural resistance can hope to resist the consuming flames. The Baali must touch or establish eye contact. The curse normally occurs the next day but can be delayed to divert suspicion, each success is an extra day. The victim may soak with Fortitude or other Disciplines that defend specifically against sunlight. Rolling about on the ground or dousing in water will douse some of the flames but target still takes new damage each turn until curse runs its course.
9• Call the Great Beast (SH)
This ritual takes four hours to cast and requires the sacrifice of 50 victims (Kindred or kine) with at least 4 Humanity each. One of the Great Demon Lords of the Netherworld will thereupon erupt from Hades, but it is safe to say that such entities are more powerful than any Vampire, and that the world is in serious trouble. This is presented more as a plot device than a way for sadistic Storytellers to waste the Troupe.
10• Open the Way (Cbk Baali)
The Baali have remained dedicated to a dark purpose: the release of their lords and masters onto an unsuspecting earth. This is the method by which this unholy act might be enacted, and such is the might and depravity required to use this power that it has only been attempted thrice in history. Fortunately all three attempts have failed.
In order to place the caster in the proper frame of mind, he must chant paeans to the entity he is attempting to awaken, uninterrupted for 48 consecutive hours. The slightest stammer or interruption causes the rite to fail, and may well attract the unwelcome attention of the entity being petitioned. At the conclusion of the chanting, the Baali must sacrifice 100 free, untainted souls. The victims may be mortal or Cainite, but all must have Conscience rating of at least 4. At this point, the Baali summons and releases all of his Willpower, expending nine pts of permanent Willpower in an attempt to shatter the bonds holding his master. If successful, the Baali becomes an empty vessel and the gate through which his master flows into reality. From that point on, the character is no long playable, as he has become an aspect of his foul master. On the other hand, the world now has graver concerns than the disposition of a single Cainite.
