Duncan didn’t bother to knock on the commander’s door. As he opened it, Virl Talin stood from behind his enormous desk.
"Ten years and you still haven’t learned to knock?"
"You weren’t expecting us?" Duncan just shrugged before he added as an afterthought, "Sir."
Watts and Myers stood near the commander, smirking smugly at them. Another man, neither Duncan nor Chase had ever seen, stood near the rear open door of the office.
Commander Talin just sighed. "I wouldn’t tolerate you two," he grunted as he sat back down, "but you’re the best we’ve got."
"Okay, so what’ve you got for us then, Sir," Chase asked as he collapsed into the nearest chair. He didn’t even give Watts and Myers the benefit of a nod. The other man, though…now that one he did notice. And if the look on Duncan’s face was any indication, Duncan noticed him quite well, too.
"Your Highness, this is Duncan Sampson and Chase Sykes, two of Interferion’s best." Looking over at them, the commander continued, "And this is Iari, Ruler of Iceu."
After they’d been introduced, Duncan cast on appraising gaze over Iari. Both of them had heard of the secretive jungle lord. In person, his blood-red hair made him a temptation worth grabbing. His high cheekbones gave him an exotic appearance downright guaranteed to appeal to both Chase and Duncan. A deep red tunic ended right at his upper thigh, giving them a tasty glimpse of the mouth-watering cock underneath. Reflective umber eyes fastened on both of them as Duncan and Chase stared at him.
With a regal nod, Iari greeted them. "I will be accompanying you both to deal with CI. I have fought him before."
Duncan arched a brow, murmuring, "We must be on Arch’s ‘I Love You’ list."
Chase was too busy just staring. "Yeah."
"Captain Sykes," Commander Talin said sharply, "is our best pilot. Sampson is his navigator."
"Among other things," Chase added with a thoroughly lascivious grin. Talin groaned.
The smile on Iari’s lips matched the amusement in his eyes. "We should head to your ship and discuss our plans."
As to what those plans included, Iari didn’t say, but the element of interest in the gaze fastened on the two of them gave Duncan more than a little hope. This would be one hell of an interesting adventure.
Chase resisted the urge to lick his lips. He stood and moved back to Duncan. Hand on the doorframe, he leaned over slightly and whispered, "Remind me to thank Arch profusely for this."
Iari walked over to the door, seemingly oblivious that his tunic rode up just enough to show everything. Judging by the lack of regard for his under-dressed state, it was clear that Iceu’s clothing-optional policy still remained blessedly intact. Equally clear was the hard on Duncan now sported. His eyes followed Iari as the king moved out the door.
